Sanco Industries was an extremely successful project. I was the SEO specialist on the project and started by asking for as much information as possible upfront (targeted geolocation? main goal of website? hot products? current traffic? etc). Once I had this information, I started compiling my list of keywords. The folks at Sanco Industries reviewed & approved the list - giving me the green light to start implementation. There was a lot of work to be completed.
Their website had no meta keywords/description, all of their title tags were "Sanco Industries", and they had no heading tags (H1, H2, H3, etc). On top of that, many of their pages were lacking strong content, so we added more text. After adding in the basics, I started changing around their code structure (trying to shrink things down as much as possible). The next step was to take care of the domain canonicalization (they had 3 domains - 2 of them opened iframes of the other). I simply added some mod_rewrite code into the htaccess to make them all redirect to the url with the most authority (sancoind.com). The finishing touches came last - Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
